My Background
Before starting Soundscape Harmony, I spent years working in professional, client-facing roles where performance, communication, and results mattered.
I’ve worked in environments where:
-
expectations are high
-
responsiveness is constant
-
and there’s very little room to slow down
I understand what it feels like to carry pressure internally while still needing to show up clearly and effectively.
That experience shapes how I approach this work. I’m not offering something abstract or disconnected from real life. The sessions I create are grounded, practical, and designed to meet people where they actually are.
How I Came to This Work
I started practicing yoga over 25 years ago and it helped me during intense training and a demanding professional life.
I spent decades as an endurance athlete, training in the mountains and spending long stretches in silence and movement. That’s where I first experienced how the body and mind can reset when given the right conditions. I saw a reiki practitioner while training and was introduced to sound as a modality to improve my performance mentally, emotionally and physically
Sound became a more direct way to access that same state. Over time, I trained in sound, yoga, and energy work but what stayed consistent was this:
When the nervous system settles, everything else follows. That’s the foundation of what I offer now.
Training & Credentials
-
Certified Holographic Sound Practitioner
-
Reiki Master
-
Registered Yoga Teacher (RYT-200)
-
Multiple retreats and continuing education studies.
These inform my work, but the sessions themselves are simple, grounded, and experience-based.
Who This Is For
This work tends to resonate with people who:
-
feel mentally overloaded or constantly “on”
-
are navigating stress, pressure, or transition
-
want something real not performative or overly abstract
-
are open, but may also be skeptical
I work with:
-
individuals
-
small groups
-
and organizations looking for a more grounded approach to wellness
What Makes This Different
This isn’t about escaping your life. It’s about being able to come back to it more clearly.
I bring both:
-
a structured, intentional approach to sound
-
and a real understanding of what people are carrying day to day
You’re not walking into something performative or overly spiritual. You’re walking into a space where your system can actually settle.
Melissa Black
Style
Melissa Black is a Certified Integrative Life Coach and Reiki Master with deep training
in Ayurveda, Vedic Philosophy, and Mind-Body Healing. She brings together sound bowl therapy, meditation, somatic practice, and energy work into immersive experiences designed to restore what modern work culture often depletes presence,
calm, and nervous system resilience. This isn't wellness delivered from the outside. It's an invitation offered from someone who understands, at a cellular level, what it means to need it.
For Organizations
Through corporate sound bath immersions and guided wellness breaks, Melissa partners with HR teams and organizational leaders to bring meaningful well-being
support directly to employees.
Her sessions are designed to:
• Regulate the nervous system through therapeutic sound and vibrational healing
• Release held tension through breathwork, meditation, and somatic awareness
• Restore focus and emotional clarity using Reiki-informed energy principles
• Build a culture of care that employees feel not just see on a benefits page
What That Means For You
Melissa has spent years refining these modalities across clinical, coaching, and grief integration settings. That depth of lived and practiced experience is what makes her facilitation different. This isn't a passive experience. It's a reset.
