CO-FOUNDER

Brandy Wood Adams

Roots

Brandy Wood Adams comes from a long line of American creators and adventurers. Her ancestors were American pioneers and businessmen. Her father raced motorcycles for decades and was an avid outdoorsman. She raced BMX as a kid and grew up understanding that movement and the natural world were never hobbies. They were the baseline.

The Mountains

She came to mountain biking in 1998, one of the first women in Richmond, Virginia to ride and race competitively. Over two decades she raced, was sponsored, directed events, and helped shape the cycling community around her. In 2010 she turned to endurance racing completing four 100-mile over backcountry mountain bike events, each taking twelve to sixteen hours to finish, alone in the mountains for hours at a time.  The training hours became a moving meditation each year as she prepared. The mountains taught her to endure discomfort and govern the mind under sustained pressure. The natural world has always been her teacher.

The mountains didn't teach me to escape difficulty. They taught me that the mind, when trained, becomes the most reliable instrument you have. That breathe is critical to success in all aspects of living.

A Parallel Life

Alongside the mountains, Brandy built a twenty plus year career as a senior sales executive in cultural heritage technology, she worked with notable museums, archives, household brands, national sports teams and natural history institutions across the United States. Her clients managed some of the worlds most precious treasures. She traveled extensively throughout North America and abroad, partnered with senior leaders, and navigated complex, high-stakes professional environments. The contemplative life and the professional life were never in conflict. They were always the same path.  Though she didn't always see that in the moment until 2013 during a reiki session. A crystal bowl was played and the effect was profoundly transformative to know the truth.

These practices were never a response to burnout or a pivot away from something. They ran alongside everything else, always in various forms but sound was the most transformative.

The Path Opens

It took more years training in movement meditation then in 2018 she began formal studies in energy work, receiving her Reiki attunements and deepening her commitment to lineage-based practice. After 25 years of personal yoga practice, she completed her 200-hour Yoga Teacher Training in 2020 and traveled to the Sattva Yoga Academy campus in the Himalayas in 2022 for the Embodying Dharma retreat.  This was an experience that deepened her understanding of contemplative practice in ways that inform her work today. She has continued her studies through Sattva Connect and daily practice.

In 2023 she started studying under the Tibetan Bön tradition with Tenzin Wangyal Rinpoche. She received initiation under His Holiness the 34th Menri Trizin when he traveled from India with his attending lamas. One of the resident lamas, Lama Kalsang Nyima, wanted to raise money for his village by having an art show. In 2024 she traveled to Taos, New Mexico to assist him with his first gallery exhibition, a body of elemental queens by an artist traditionally trained in thangka. She was honored to be of service.

Sessions

When you attend a session with Brandy, you are not transforming with someone who found healing and decided to teach it. You are working with someone for whom these practices have always been the undercurrent of a full, demanding, impactful professional life running parallel to endurance athletics, to serious inner work that began long before it had a name.

She has sat in similar rooms you sit in. She understands the cost of sustained performance having witnessed it firsthand. She builds her sessions not as an escape from that world, but to assist you to live more elegantly in all aspects family, work and community.

Through corporate sound bath immersions and guided wellness breaks, Melissa partners with HR teams and organizational leaders to bring meaningful well-being
support directly to employees.

Her sessions are designed to:
• Regulate the nervous system through therapeutic sound and vibrational healing

• Restore focus and emotional clarity using Reiki-informed energy principles
• Build a culture of care that employees feel not just see on a benefits page

What That Means For You
